I'm going to be a commuter

It looks like I'll be commuting from Cambridge to London for the next two plus months. Does anyone (all 3 people who read this blog?) have suggestions of books that I should read on the train?

I'm enjoying "The Memory Keeper's Daughter" - and I heard Kahled Housseini has a new book out "A Thousand Splendid Suns"... good luck with the commute!

I'm reading a really good book right now (nonfic) called Sacred Marriage by Gary Thomas. Someone gave it to me when Tim and I got engaged and I didn't pick it up for a while-- but now that I've started it I'm finding it very worthwhile.

"Confessions" by St. Augustine
This classic never goes out of date. I recommend the Chadwick translation.

You won't need to commute anymore, but if you still need titles, I'd recommend anything by Alice Munro and Jhumpa Lahiri, esp. their short stories. Folks on your side of the world also seem to like Ian McEwen. Or for something completely different and older, I like Evelyn Waugh.
